Overview

The topic of density is of particular interest to the growing communities. Conversations about the lack of affordable housing, high property taxes, and the perceived competing interests of businesses and residents abound. Many communities in New Hampshire are grappling with economic growth issues. Statewide, particularly in the southern tier, Upper Valley and in communities in the White Mountains that are reliant on tourism, there is an ongoing discussion and debate about development, zoning, density and affordable housing for residents. These are and will continue to be major issues in a state with full employment and a labor and housing shortage.  A free event for New Hampshire planners, public officials and land use practitioners focused on density issues in various parts of the state, as well as possible solutions.
