ASSISTANT PLANNING DIRECTOR
The Town of Bedford is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Planning Director. The Assistant Planning Director provides professional support to the Planning Board and Historic District Commission. The ideal candidate will have strong customer service skills, knowledge in the theory and practice of land use planning and zoning, experience reviewing site plans and subdivisions and the ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. The Assistant Planning Director also works on long-range planning projects, including preparation of the town Master Plan.
Applicants should have at least five (5) years of experience in public planning or a related field, a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in planning or a related field. A Master’s degree and AICP is desirable. Applicants should be proficient with Microsoft Office products and have the ability to learn additional software programs. Any combination of education, training, and experience which demonstrates possession of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities comparable to the above qualifications will be considered.
