Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in urban or regional planning or related field, and three years’ experience in urban and regional planning, or any equivalent combination of education and experience. excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with municipal officials, boards, committees and the public; working knowledge of Maine land use laws including zoning, shoreland zoning, subdivision, and growth management/comprehensive planning. MS Office experience required and ESRI ArcGIS preferred. Excellent organizational, writing, communication, problem-solving, consensus-building, and process skills are essential. This position requires travel to attend meetings, including some evening meetings and use of personal vehicle (mileage reimbursable).
The starting salary is between $65,000-75,000 and is dependent on experience and qualifications.
