Changes to MAP Membership Renewal Process for 2020
The Maine Association of Planners (MAP) is becoming a Section of the Northern New England Chapter of the American Planning Association (NNECAPA). Here is what to expect about how your dues amount and method of payment will change.
Member of APA/NNECAPA & MAP
When your APA/NNECAPA renewal comes due in 2020, your Chapter dues will be $80 and will automatically include your MAP membership. You will not need to renew your MAP membership separately or pay additional dues. During the 2020-2021 transition period, annual Chapter dues will be $80. NNECAPA anticipates returning to a dues system based on a percentage of APA dues (which are income-based) in 2022.
Member of MAP Only
All members of MAP who renew their membership for 2020 will become members of both the Chapter (NNECAPA) and the Maine Section (MAP). Later this fall, you will receive an email from the American Planning Association (APA) asking you to renew your Chapter membership (APA manages membership on behalf of NNECAPA) for a period beginning January 2020. You will not need to become a member of the APA to be a member of NNECAPA and MAP. Your NNECAPA dues for 2020 will be $80 and will automatically include your MAP membership. You will not need to renew your MAP membership separately or pay additional dues.
