The City of Bath is pleased to announce that John Rutecki joined the Planning Office in November 2024 as the Assistant City Planner. John recently earned an M.S. in Preservation Practices from Roger Williams University and was a recent recipient of the Patricia Anderson Fellowship from Maine Preservation.
The City of Bath adopted the “Resilient Bath Climate Action and Resiliency Plan” in November 2024. The plan production was led by Rod Melanson, Director of Sustainability and Environment, with guidance from the Bath Climate Advisory Group, and in partnership with Kim Lundgren Associates, and Siler Climate Consulting. Jennifer King has received EMDC's Tom Davis Award for her dedication and leadership. The award is named in honor of Davis for his service as a longtime Penobscot County Commissioner, EMDC board member, and businessman dairy farmer. Read more.
The Musson Group is pleased to announce Matt Williams as our newest hire. Most recently, Matt worked as the City Planner for the City of Ellsworth and brings with him experience in a range of municipal land use planning matters. He also serves on the boards of Maine Association of Planners and the Hancock County Regional Planning Commission. We are thrilled to have Matt join our team! Read more.
Janna Richards joined Hancock County Planning Commission to work on regional resilience, environmental and community development planning.
Olivia Jolley joined Hancock County Planning Commission as a regional planner.
Holly Werner joined Deer Isle and Stonington in May as a Maine Service Fellow to work on resilience, housing and community development planning.
There have been staffing changes in the Community Planning and Scoping Unit in MaineDOT’s Bureau of Planning, with some new planners joining the team and some current planners taking on new responsibilities:
Michael Hori will be serving as the Regional Planner for MaineDOT Regions 2 (Midcoast) and 3 (Western). In this capacity, he will also serve as the point of contact for MaineDOT’s contracts with AVCOG, KVCOG, LCRPC, and MCOG.
Kathryn Grond will be serving as a Statewide Planner, supporting planning studies, policy implementation, and discretionary funding applications statewide through data- and research-driven review, modeling, and analysis.
As part of this reorganization, our colleague Matthew Drost will transition to serving exclusively as the Region 1 Planner (Southern), in addition to his roles as the Scenic Byways Coordinator and the Federal Lands Access Program Coordinator, among other responsibilities.
