The Southwest Region Planning Commission (SWRPC) is recruiting to fill the position of either Planner or Senior Planner.

SWRPC is based in Keene, NH and serves 33 communities of the Monadnock Region. Planner/Senior Planner duties will include a range of activities such as municipal planning assistance, economic development, transportation, housing, environment, public health, energy, broadband, emergency preparedness, and more depending on background and skillset. SWRPC utilizes a teamwork approach in serving its member municipalities and others, encourages coordination and collaboration among a range of stakeholders, and our work is grounded in sustainable planning principles. Qualifications

Degree in planning or related field (geography, environmental sciences, public administration, sociology, economics, landscape architecture, etc.); Master’s degree preferred. For Senior Planner position, professional planning or similar experience is required.

Additional Qualities

Knowledge of generally accepted planning principles and practices; research and analytical skills; ability to prioritize and multi-task; refined writing, presentation and interpersonal skills; familiarity with common office computer applications; and the ability to work  both independently and in a team environment.

Compensation

Full time, salaried position with excellent benefits package. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and will be dependent on placement as Planner (mid-$40s-

$50s) or Senior Planner ($60s).
