The Town of Bedford is accepting applications for the position of Land Use & Development Planner. Bedford is a growing community conveniently located in southern New Hampshire, close to the seacoast, mountains and greater Boston area. We are seeking applicants with experience in land use planning, zoning, development, permitting and construction. The position also focuses on policy research, long-range planning efforts and public engagement. The Planner works closely with volunteer boards, provides customer service to the public, coordinates with developers and design consultants and municipal officials. The position collaborates closely with the Planning Director and assists with the administration and review of Planning Board applications.

Applicants should have at least (3) years of experience in municipal planning or a related field. A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in planning or a related field. Master’s degree and AICP is desirable. Applicants must be comfortable working with the public, be able to communicate effectively, and be proficient with Microsoft Office products with the ability to learn additional software programs. Applicants with any combination of education, training, and experience which demonstrates possession of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities comparable to the above qualifications will be considered.
