The Nashua Regional Planning Commission (NRPC) seeks a well-rounded planner to join its highly-functioning multi-disciplinary team. The ideal candidate would have a background in Urban Planning, Environmental Planning, or a similar field at the municipal or regional level. The Regional/ Environmental Planner is responsible for managing NRPC’s Household Hazardous Waste Program, staffing the Nashua Region Solid Waste Management District, providing support to local land use boards under NRPC’s “Circuit Rider” program and would work on a variety of other projects that may include land use, transportation, economic development, and housing in addition to environmental planning. Applicants should possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and be comfortable making public presentations. Working knowledge or familiarity with GIS, graphic design, or landscape architecture is a plus.
Qualifications: A bachelor’s or master’s degree in urban planning or a related discipline and at least three years of relevant work experience. Work experience can include internships and volunteer experience. Applicants should be adept at working in a variety of software platforms including Microsoft Office Suite. Must have a valid driver’s license at the time of appointment and be able to attend evening meetings. Some outdoor work may be required in areas of uneven terrain and wooded environs as well as in urban areas. Salary range is $50,000 to $70,000 commensurate with experience and qualifications.
