The New Hampshire Planners Association was founded in 1970 by a group of planners who recognized the need for a forum to discuss planning issues on a statewide level. The New Hampshire Planners Association helps planners to stay on top of current trends affecting planning in New Hampshire.

Reflecting the diversity of the planning profession, the New Hampshire Planners Association's membership spans a broad spectrum of interests and backgrounds. 

Professional planners, planning board members, and individuals with an interest in planning are all welcome to participate in the programs of the NHPA

Planning is a multi-disciplinary profession that involves all aspects of life in a community. Planners are called on daily to make decisions that involve environmental, economic, social, technical and legal issues. Since its inception, the NHPA has been active in developing policy statements on issues such a growth control, land use regulation, environmental protection, energy, transportation and regional planning.
