NNECAPA engages in policy and legislative activity primarily through its three state Sections. The Chapter supports its Sections by:

  • Facilitating the sharing of information among members across all three states;
  • Connecting members with resources provided by APA; and
  • Providing information to members about planning-related policies, programs, legislation and judicial decisions at the federal level.

Recently, NNECAPA wrote to Senator Susan Collins (R-ME) to support additional funding for local government in the latest COVID-19 relief bill. See the text of the letter here

The Maine Section's Legislative and Policy Committee tracks and shares information about planning-related bills in the state legislature with Section members.
